Top-20 Finish Tops Off Consistent Run for Rookie Austin Hill

In his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Bristol Motor Speedway, Austin Hill and the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Ford team finished 19th in the UNOH 200. After starting the 200-lap event from the 18th position, the Winston, GA native found himself inside the top-10 by lap 46. Working closely with veteran spotter Freddie Kraft, Hill continued to maneuver traffic, while trying to hold onto the coveted bottom grove. Impatience from behind, shuffled the rookie to the outside grove, forcing him to lose valuable position and later a lap to the leaders. Ever resilient and after a late pit stop, the NASCAR Next alumni meticulously worked his way through traffic gaining several spots enroot to a top-20 finish in the 19th position.

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

“We had a solid top-15th place truck tonight and I cannot thank everyone involved from the Young’s Motorsports team for all of their hard work and dedication. We were able to crack into the top-10 tonight and my Ford was handling pretty well in the early stages, but once we got shuffled to the outside grove and towards the back, track position became the premium.  All-in-all it was a great learning experience and I am looking forward to getting back behind of the No. 02 Ford at Chicagoland Speedway in a few weeks.”
