Race Notes and Quotes:

This Week’s Austin Hill Racing Ford at Homestead … Austin Hill will pilot chassis No. 103 from the AHR NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable. The chassis made its debut with the team earlier this month at Texas Motor Speedway. The chassis had previously raced under the NTS Motorsports banner in 2015.

Hill at Homestead… Hill has one previous start at the southern Florida facility, coming at the conclusion of the 2014 season for Ricky Benton Racing. He qualified 26th for the event, before coming home in the 20th position.

Last Outing at Texas… Hill piloted his No. 20 Lone Survivor Foundation, Alien Gear Holsters, Lawless Jerky Ford F-150 to 19th two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway. Qualifying 20th for the event, Hill was working his way well into the top-15, when he reported a motor issue. It was later determined Hill had lost an engine cylinder, drastically reducing his horsepower for the remainder of the race.

Lone Survivor Foundation… Austin Hill Racing (AHR) announced Monday that they have affiliated themselves with the Lone Survivor Foundation (LSF), which was founded in 2010 by Navy SEAL (Ret.) Marcus Luttrell. The partnership’s goal will be to raise awareness to the mission of the Lone Survivor Foundation, to restore, empower and renew hope for wounded service members and their families through health, wellness and therapeutic support.

Calling the Shots … Calling the shots from atop the Austin Hill Racing pit box this weekend will be veteran crew chief Mike Abner. While spending a majority of his career as a crew chief in the NASCAR Spring Cup Series, Abner has earned victories in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as well as K&N Pro Series East.
